May 18, 2016 – Palmetto, GA – YourTown Health invites everyone to a free health fair and dental open house at its Palmetto location next Friday.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 643 Main Street in Palmetto and includes the following health screenings at no charge:
- Oral health
- Oral cancer
- Periodontal
- Blood pressure
- A1C, which tests blood sugar and is the primary test for diabetes management
- HIV
- Basic lipid panel to measure total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels
- Depression
- Colorectal cancer
“Early detection and preventative health screenings are essential to a healthy lifestyle,” said Jon W. Wollenzien, Jr., Chief Executive Officer. “They are very useful in letting us know about potential threats to good health, including illnesses such as diabetes, depression, cancer and hypertension, and their risk factors.” The fair is also an opportunity to educate people in the community about YourTown Health’s network of six community medical centers. The Palmetto location features dentistry, a pharmacy, plus obstetrics and gynecology services, as well as a fully bilingual medical staff.
“We will have navigators available at the fair who are trained to help people find health insurance coverage options on the HealthCare Marketplace, including help to complete the enrollment forms,” said Wollenzien. YourTown Health accepts most major insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid. “There will also be individuals on site who can assist with determining your eligibility for our sliding fee scale,” he added.
