Non-Profit Organization Promotes Executive to Lead Its Continuing Mission of Offering Quality Accessible Healthcare to Those in Need
YourTown Health, a non-profit network of seven Community Health Centers catering to underserved communities, appointed Dr. Tara Brown as chief executive officer, ushering in a new era in leadership for the groundbreaking practice. Dr. Brown is now overseeing the full scope of YourTown Health’s operations.
“Having the opportunity to lead an organization such as YourTown Health is an absolute honor,” says Dr. Brown. “I’m so very grateful to be able to walk into work each day with an overarching mission of doing whatever we can to provide opportunities for additional healthcare access in our communities. Dr. Brown graduated from Northwestern University where she studied economics and international studies. She received her Master of Business Administration from Emory University and her doctorate in dentistry from Augusta University. Prior to joining the YourTown Health administrative team, Dr. Brown worked as a general dentist at both YourTown Health and a pediatric practice in LaGrange, Georgia.
She most recently served as chief operating officer for YourTown Health and was able to draw upon her innovative leadership perspective along with her versatile background in consulting, project management, business administration, and dentistry. Dr. Brown assumes the YourTown Health CEO position previously occupied by Jon Wollenzien, who retired.
